In June, the world's most powerful heads of state will gather in Toronto with the purpose of shaping their preferred global order. The Dominion will publish a special issue on the G8 and G20 meetings and protests.
Canada, the largest foreign supplier of oil to the US, sends 1.2 million barrels south each day. Crude from Canada's tar sands, "the world's dirtiest oil," accounts for half that supply. During his first foreign visit to Canada, US President Barack Obama called climate change and the need to develop clean energy resources "the most pressing challenge of our time." He did not mention the tar sands.

As state powers in Canada continue to promote and participate in a war of terror that has taken the lives of untold thousands in Afghanistan, critical and independent media such as the Dominion, rooted in principles of social justice, is a necessity in the face of mainstream media complicity in terror.
