A water hole built by Barrick Gold near their North Mara Gold mine on behalf of the local communities. PM Harper stirred controversy when he visited Barrick officials during a trip to Tanzania. Barrick’s mines in Tanzania have been widely protested for their mistreatment of workers, their contamination of the environment and for failing to pay taxes and royalties.
