Since the 2009 coup in Honduras, Canadian mining firms have increased trade with the country, pressing for more lax mining laws in the country, and the Honduran government has obliged. Above, a protest from Vancouver's Mining Justice Week (May 14-19, 2011) against Canadian mining practices in Honduras and other South American countries.
